Job Description:

As Jive heads into its tenth year, under the sole ownership of co-founder Lindsay Nahmiache, we are expanding and bringing on more international clients. In order to maintain the personal, ‘boutique’ feel of the individual nurturing relationships with these clients, the perfect candidate will be able to work on an assortment of Canadian, American and international brands (NZ, UK, etc). This candidate will be open to occasional travel including to Jive’s Los Angeles office. 

The perfect Jiver is a highly motivated, entrepreneurial, self-starter with at least 5 years PR experience complemented with account management, media relations, strategy, and client liaison skills. We’re looking for a proactive go-getter with a lot of creativity, spunk, and most importantly, a unique quirk. We want to help you leave your mark on the PR world - life is too short for mediocrity.

The role will include working closely with the CEO, senior leadership team, account team members, and clients on day-to-day deliverables to implement high-results PR & Influencer campaigns.

Main Job Duties:

Your role would include, but not be limited to the following:

  • Consumer PR – Use one’s expertise to plan and implement dynamic PR campaigns from start to finish, tweaking along the way to ensure deliverables are hit

  • Corporate PR – Plan and implement impactful media/PR campaigns

  • Brand Growth - Grow consumer brands, driving sales through a range of PR tools/strategies

  • Publicity – Generate positive news coverage across the broad media spectrum through solid press relations
    Strategic Planning – Develop and execute strategies aligned with the client’s key business objectives

  • Decision Maker - Capable of exercising impeccable judgment with quick response time
    Creativity – Utilize knowledge of the media to recognize media angles and pitch media outlets successfully

  • Excellent Writing Skills - Draft pitches and other written press materials and edit team’s written work

  • Client Retention - Responsible for client retention

  • White Glove Service - Creating moments of “Wow” experiences for the client, managing client service and team performance

  • Leadership - Delegating to and managing PR team of 2 or more people, Nurturing and mentoring team members

  • Business Development - Researching new business and client opportunities

  • Managing Client Expectations

  • Managing Budgets - Responsible for managing and staying on top of client budgets for events, influencer campaigns etc.

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years PR experience, including a minimum of 2 years of managing direct reports

  • From concept to completion, has the expertise to deliver successful PR campaigns exceeding client expectations

  • Experience in leading and strategizing a reactive and proactive press office and handling incoming press enquiries

  • A wide & strong network of regional/national + international contacts across the media spectrum

  • Ability to build relationships on an internal and external level

  • Team player, working well under pressure and thrives in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment

  • Excellent publicity skills - oral, written, and interpersonal skills

  • Solid understanding and experience in social media strategy, campaigns, execution and analytics

  • Strong detail-orientation, organizational, and time management skills

  • Demonstrates initiative, innovation, integrity, and professionalism

  • Exceptional client management skills

  • Maintain confidentiality and exercise tact when dealing with sensitive issues
